BBC World Service is reporting on the Iraqi election. Just now I am listening to an exchange of views on the election from three parties.
What a difference from recent reporting! The high turnout in the election obiously has made a difference! A representative of a party described as a Sunni party protested that his party is a party for Iraqis. One person interviewed at a polling station said that his choice not to vote the last time was a mistake.
Maybe this is overly optimistic, but certainly it is a difference from the usual doomsday reporting on the outlook for the Iraqi future.
