Tonight’s BBC World Service reporting on the violent protests in Pakistan (against you-know-what) struck me as different.

  • The news announcer repeatedly reported on the demonstrations against ‘cartoons of the prohet Mohammed published in some European newspapers’. I.e. no direct reference to Jyllands-Posten.
  • The targets for the demonstrators seem to be more general, venting anger towards the West in general, and towards the Pakistani governement. Maybe Danish targets are getting scarce?

More promising is the news in Jyllands-Posten that muslim groups in Denmark are prepared to assume part of the blame for igniting the waves of demonstrations.
