So, now it is settled. No more improvisations! I have to make sure I am back in Auckland in time for my return flight (and a long and tiresome flight it will be!).
Today I’ll leave Queenstown for Te Anau. Not much to do there, except a cave tour, and some walking. My hiking boots have taken a rap though, so if I don’t get them mended - no walking! But it’s the scenery by the lake (by the same name) of course.
Two nights there, then off to Invercargill, and a flight back to Auckland. Fortunately I will not have to shred so much of my luggage there, since Air New Zealand have quite generous amounts allowed. Maybe this can give me time to make a day visit to Stewart Island. Invercargill is otherwise not known to be the town where things happen…
To Auckland via Christchurch on the 4th, then Stockholm via Bangkok on the 6th.
