So, there. Got my hiking boots dirty yesterday.

The Queenstown Hill track is a 500 m climb, first through forest of Douglas fir, then through shrub above the treeline.

The altitude at the top is some 950 m.

I’ll have another practise tour today before attempting the Ben Lomond track. This is marked ‘challenging’, but the ‘moderate’ track of yesterday was very well paved, and contained no rough terrain at all for the feet, apart from the incline on the way down.

And it was warm, above +18° C part of the time! Nothing like the +5° to +10° C I’m used to from Norway. A little cooler today though.
